Biochemically triggered - remember that you sweat a little when you change? Well, there's a hormone in it that the clothing reacts to. Thus-
Mimetic - the structure of the material has a sort of memory. It's why it can go from collar to clothing so fast.
Polycellular - what it's made of. Feels like silk, wears like cotton, but it's one solid piece instead of a weave.
Really, Catseye. I swear you'll have a head for science one of these days.

There are a lot of other scents in the area. I'm not entirely sure it was one of them, but I think they were all in the same general place at the time his trail ended.
