I just want to give everyone a headsup,

Kitty's recieved a job offer on the other side of the country. It was one of those, once in a lifetime job offers which she couldn't really say no to. I've just dropped her off at the airport and she's headed out to get set up now. The rest of her stuff will be sent along after. 

She asked me to say thanks and goodbye to everyone.

 So, I'm going to be doing a spring cleaning of the blackbird this weeking, a little tune-up before thanksgiving and it got me wondering, well one if anyone wanted to help. But, mainly, did anyone want to get certified, or recertified on the blackbird? Once I've got her nicely tuned up, might be a good chance to take out hte local jet.

 *pours one out for the poor blackbird*

Now that a proper mourning period has passed it's time to rebuild the blackbird..or start anyway. If anyone wants to help, or has ideas they'd like to integrate into the new blackbird now's the time to speak up.

In case anyone missed us Jean and I are holidaying in Italy over the new year.

Please don't blow up the mansion, or invite a super-villain to stay, or you know, do anything I wouldn't do.

We'll be checking our mail, so let us know if you need us in an emergency. IF anything happens while we're gone Logan can handle it...I can't believe I just said that. Being on holiday is obviously doing weird things to my head.

Jean and I will be going out to dinner tonight. We'll have our phones with us in case of an emergency, You know the mansion burning down that kind of thing; but only for emergencies.

It's been a week and I'm still washing colored powder of my hair. 

Whoever dropped that balloon on me owes me a new bottle of shampoo, that stuff is a nightmare to get out.

Lorna and I are headed to Hawaii this weekend for Alex's birthday. I'll have my phone in-case anything drastic happens, but I haven't seen my brother in a while and couldn't miss the opportunity.

After almost 2 years away in California I've finally returned to the mansion. Well technically I got back to the mansion last night, and managed to surprise my wife. You people seriously  have no idea how hard it is to surprise a psychic. I'm back at the mansion now; if anyone wants to catch up you'll probably find me in the garage. Got to get my babies back into shape.

To those who don't know me, I'm Cyclops, you probably have me to thank for some of the danger room scenarios you've been running through. You'll all be happy to know that I've brought back my latest batch of programs with me for more danger room goodness. 

I shall be spending the afternoon letting a surgeon with a South African accent rearrange my knee in ways I prefer not to think about too closely. The explanation involved cutting and scraping and... yeah, going to stop right there.

Maybe if I pout really, really convincingly, Jean will buy me an ice cream cone on a way home.

... but apparently I'm not possessed of sufficient restraint tonight. Here's the thing, folks. I will freely admit that we cannot always protect everyone living in this house. That would be because we're not all-powerful and all-seeing. I will also admit that there have been times that having the X-Men based out of the school has actually brought more danger to our door. That would be why we're forthright about the risks, and leave the decision of whether or not you want to take them in the hands of yourselves (and your parents, where applicable).

We train your powers. We train you in self-defense, and how to work in a team. The only way that training could be taken further is to turn you, and this school, into one of the very things the X-Men fight to stop on a regular basis. I don't think I'm the only one who'd be walking away if it ever came to that.

The truth is, you are all better equipped than the vast majority of the population to deal with the vast majority of situations. A number of you have proven that repeatedly. I'm sorry that your preparation and our protection sometimes falls short, but here's the other thing; all the training in the world doesn't ever banish the fear that colors those moments. Figuring out how to live with that is something we all have to do for ourselves, because that can't be taught.
