[I wasn't going to make this public. I started to, and then I stopped, and tried to let cooler heads prevail. It didn't work.]

I'm not one for idle conversation.

I'm also not a person who speaks when they don't have all the information, and aren't sure of the situation.

Apparently, to some people at this school, this is the equivalent of treating them like children.

I guess I have been keeping secrets then, simply because I haven't been talking. I haven't been speaking up first.

I hereby apologize to each and every person at this school for my behavior.

I am not social. I am not a people person. Logan once said I was a dick. He wasn't wrong.

However, in an attempt to mend fences and in the interest of not alienating students any MORE, I hereby offer to answer any question put to me as honestly and truthfully as I am able. And tell you if I am not able to answer that. Even why, if I can.

It's a step. A step toward opening up. Toward not treating you like children.

Take it.

He's wrong a lot, Scott. Trust me.

Questions? How did they get in? How did they get so /far/ in?

You'll need to be specific on the they, Marie.

But if you are referring to Pete's ex-employers, considering he gave them the plans for attacking the school, I would assume they used his plans.

Yes, Pete's ex-employers, as that's the most recent event. Has Pete been kind enough to tell us where the flaws that he shared with them can be found? I was hoping for specifics, like they shut down a breaker or teleported or something. My wild assumption is that the entry routes from Stryker's forces were attended to in the past.

Plenty of flaws here.

Giant windows with open arcs of fire. Unrestricted road access. Mansion lacking real proper motion sensors, laser traps and infra-red. Plus, the fact that the entire place lights up like a beacon on infra-red.

One smart bomb, and we are all singing with the angels.

Solutions?

We can't go locking this place up like an asylum and we can't live looking over our shoulders until we're all crazy enough to be locked up in one.

This is a school. Or it's not. Maybe that decision needs to be made. I say that with some trepidation, being a teacher and not. Being two things at once seems to be part of the issue here.

I don't have any answers. I'm still trying to make the questions come out right. There's so much that's good around here and yet the bad comes out of nowhere like a runaway train and shatters it and maybe there is no solution. Maybe we stock up on spackle-paste and child psych texts and hope like hell. Maybe we start training a crack team or two of lobbyists to ship off to DC. I don't know. I wish I did.

Perhaps solutions should be taken to the staff journal.

And we can tell the others that plans are being worked on.

And while we're at it we'd better get out our tinfoil hats in case they put a death ray laser on the moon. I mean, geez, there's a line between actual security concerns and paranoia, and smart bombs? That'd be the paranoia. And thanks, but my roommates have enough nightmares already they don't need to read that kind of stuff.

Maybe they shouldn't be reading then, you think?

And you're right. Only the military has access to that type of hardware. Wait, wasn't it the military that came through the windows twice so far? Maybe you right, homme. Go play your X-Box and think happy thoughts. Remy just a paranoid, after all.

I don't watch everything they do, I'm just the one they wake up in the middle of the night when they can't sleep.

And, actually, no, I'm pretty sure the second time people came through the windows it was disgruntled British spies. There's still enough of a leap of logic between "some guys breaking in with trank guns" and "turn the entire campus into a smoking crater" that I'd kinda like to see the specs on your jet boots.

But that's not the point. The point is that we're all out of magic bomb shields and somehow I don't see turning the place into a big underground bunker, so why, if not fearmongering, are you bringing up unlikely possibilities that we can't even defend against anyway?

Because, homme, it can be defended against, if you are ready for it. This place is not where Remy wants to die, just because people don't bother to look at the possibilities. How many people you nearly lose to the disgruntled British spies, homme? Three, four at least? If that not enough for you to take seriously, then you are a fool.

You have any idea the artillary that rolls through the docks in New York every single day, homme? If you got the guts to sleep rough, Remy show it to you. RPGs, laser guided Stinger missiles, LAW tubes; selling to the highest bidder. You don't think those FoH militia lunatics haven't been watching your tv show and considering the fact that getting into mortor range won't take nothing at all? Remy bet some of them pull their own National Guard shifts. Couple grand to the right people, and some lunatic can stroll up in a policaman's uniform and set off a lot of explosive on the front porch. Or send a pick-up truck full of fertilizer-based explosive into the lobby.

Let's just be clear about this: I did not give them the sodding plans for this building, although it wouldn't have been hard for them to get hold of them. I wrote a briefing memo on strategies that would be effective in certain situations against this school. Which is, in a lot of ways a whole lot bloody worse, but I'd like to be done for the crimes I *did* commit, rather than the ones I didn't.

You'll note I didn't say you gave them building plans.

I said you gave them plans for attacking the school. Call them strategies if you want, but they amount to the same thing.

Have you come up with any ways to prevent your strategies, like I asked?

Sorry - misread your comments in the light of the responses which were talking about physical security.

Like I said - there's nothing we can do about them and still run this place as a school. I've had a couple of chats with Jake about what we might do to improve physical security round here, but the weaknesses I identified weren't in physical security, so fuck knows what we can do about them.

I assume my idea of kicking out everyone with red flags is not a go?

Also, left a post-it in your ash tray for you.

I saw part of some special on CNN about this school. Nice shots of the mansion, some of the students, teachers... tape of that and some decent video enhancement equipment would give you all you need to attack this place.

Or the families of the people in it. Just a thought.
