A fitting memorial
Sep. 13th, 2026 01:31 pmxp_catseyeIt pleases me to learn the city of Los Angeles shall memorialize the legendary mountain lion P-22 with a sculpture in Griffith Park.
P-22 was a pioneer who bravely traversed two major freeways to relocate from the Santa Monica Mountains to the Hollywood Hills. It is said that he predated on small dogs also, but do not be deceived -- they started it.
Despite his star turn in National Geographic, P-22 never forgot where he came from. Tales of his perilous journey incentivized the construction of a wildlife corridor set to span the Ventura Freeway. In this he has left a generous bequest to the area's less famous residents.
P-22 is my president.
