First of all, it's Sunday (and yes, I know that doesn't usually stop me from working through the day). Secondly, I like watching the Olympics, especially the winter games, and I haven't had a chance to do it yet this time around. So I think I'll assemble an appropriate array of junk food and camp out in the third-floor lounge with the big TV for a few hours. If anyone wants to join me, they're welcome.

Oooh. The luge is on this afternoon, too. To me, that's always looked like such fun.

Competitive sledding... well, how would it not look like fun?

To me, the skeleton (where it's the same thing but they go down on their stomachs, head-first?) is a little alarming-looking. Maybe I just speak as someone who's had more than his lifetime share of head injuries...

No luge-ing for you.

Don't give me that look. I said no.

Aw, but see, the ones that do the luge can't tell where they're going anyway, so it wouldn't matter that I have only one eye!

Prescott Whateveryourmiddlenameis Summers, don't you make me say it again.

.. Prescott? Dear God. No. Nonono. I understand the desire to lengthen my name in order to tell me off for contemplating life-and-limb-risking leisure activities, but let's not get too creative.

Besides, creating a luge track would probably be far too involved and complicated a process. Nuts.

I'm trying to gain some authority here, since you've obviously gone insane! That, and I don't know your middle name. Which is now bothering me.

I know what you're doing. Stop that.

From: [identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
The only people who know my middle name are Phillip and Deborah. And possibly Charles. Because Charles knows everything. I aim to keep it that way.

I wonder if the Danger Room could mimick the luge track...

Of course, now I'm going to start rumours about what this middle name of yours is. Or tickle it out of you. Or both.

I'm crafty like that.

No. It can't. Scott...

Oh, come on. My bike has been sitting in the garage since November. This is very sad. The car has not, but I've had to be all slow and cautious with it.

Excuse me, young man? Those are the only ones who know your middle name? Are you sure?

Uh-oh is right. Just keep that in mind and play nice with Paige or I might just end up letting it slip in a 'meeting' one of these days.

Not for Bobby it wouldn't. We could bribe him with something.

And don't you virtually look at me like that, Paige, luging looks awesome.

Ah-hah! Someone who understands the need for speed.

Maybe it's a guy thing?

I'd agree with you, but I've driven with Alison and Terry. :)

Speaking of, I wonder if she'd have any good ideas on how to convince Bobby to put a luge track in the backyard. Or maybe the lake would make for a bigger foundation, do you think?

The lake. I hadn't even thought of that.

Hey, I don't drive that fast. Or at least, I don't always drive that fast. :D

I have a very good idea about how to convince Bobby to build a luge track.

So, um. Consider Bobby convinced. In about...an hour. Gotta go!

I swear, if you break my Captain (or partner it seems, arghboys) I am going to put all my dangerous knowledge to work in evil schemes against you, James.

It will not be enjoyable.

You'll probably have to get in line behind Kitty, considering I'll probably have broken myself too. Which is why we'll be really careful. Really.

Hey, looks like being thin and scrawny is a plus in the luge. Bet if I cooked up some close-to-zero friction runners in the metal shop and a suit that reduced air resistance...

From: [identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
Sometimes it is a plus to be non-musclebound, isn't it?

Date: 2006-02-12 10:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com
Indeed. As long as it doesn't earn me a stupid nickname like "Skinny" or "Slim", I figure I can deal with not having ninety extra pounds of useless muscle on my frame.

Date: 2006-02-12 10:28 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
... there's nothing actually wrong with the nickname 'Slim', you know.

Yeah, if you're a bluegrass, banjo-picking good ol' boy from the Appalachians.

Do I look like a bluegrass, banjo-picking good ol'boy to you?

Hence why it's a goofy nickname.

Date: 2006-02-12 10:37 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
Hey, I came by the nickname honestly. I was scrawny and gangly for a really unfortunate length of time.

I still get people asking me if Jean doesn't feed me.

Hm. Noooo.

(Unless I get to test it; I have a healing factor mutation, you don't.)

Depends, can you husk into molecule-level Teflon?

No, that must be your other genius, chemist partner.

Dork.
