Just to clear a couple of things up...

1) Yes, as some of you who've passed me in the halls have pointed out, my optic blasts are... strobing. It's a new one on me, too.
2) Since it doesn't actually hurt and the glasses are still holding them back just fine, no, I am not planning to cut back on the time I'm spending on Boiler Beach. Boiler Beach is a happy place. I like it. And it has a plug for my laptop, too, so it's not like I can't pretend I'm in my office.

I'm still getting to classes and training sessions and the like all right, so I figure if I want to spend a good chunk of the rest of the time enjoying our little basement paradise, I'm entitled. So there.

I saw you stick your tongue out at this post. and don't deny it.

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
I may have. People have been fussing at me. Which is silly! Because I feel great, and it's not as if my head is going to blow up or anything.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
After the conversation we had on the subject, I actually came up with a design for contacts that would work on the principle I'm assuming your glasses do. Trouble is, there's nothing in the world I can find that'd keep them attached to your eyes without industrial-strength adhesives or permanent surgery.

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Which would get in the way of being able to use my optic blasts... ah, well.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
On the upside, I managed to make myself a really nice set of contact-mounted interfaces for Warlock. And they fix that nasty astigmatism.

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, then, I'm glad the conversation wasn't wasted.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
And speaking of them, I'm off for a bit of an experiment.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
brains are hard to clean up and even harder to suture.

but they are tasty! *zombie voice* brains!

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Again with the too much sugar, Clarice.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
I've SEEN you in the morning with a bowl of Choco Frosted Sugar Bombs, add MORE sugar, and then pour chocolate milk on it! That's 200% of your recommended daily allowance of diabetic DEATH!

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
no, that's Jubilee. I don;t put chocolate milk or extra sugar on them - ruins the processed tase.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Now I'm kinda hungry. Dammit, Forge, I can't have that stuff anymore. What'd you have to go talking about it for?

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
Because you can't exactly make a point about Clarice's superhuman ability to ingest sugar by using your granola as an example.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but now I -want- Clarice's breakfast and can't have it.

Dammit. Invent a me-friendly chocolate?

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
Not so good with the biologicals, remember? Especially mutant ones. I'll bet Dr. MacTaggart could, though.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
She said something about carob, which I keep meaning to get around to trying.

And white chocolate, and yes, I KNOW its not really chocolate but it doesn't have whatever is in regular chocolate that makes me barf.

*blinks*

[identity profile] x-jubilee.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
White chocolate isn't chocolate? The what now?

*loves white chocolate.* *also loves sugary cereal* *ponders a way to combine the two*

Re: *blinks*

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-12-16 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
It's not. It hasn't got beans from the cocoa tree in it, so it's not chocolate. Don't know what it is, though, cause neither bio nor food science are my fields.

Re: *blinks*

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2004-12-16 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Noooo. Its like, some parts of chocolate but not the real chocolate parts. Anyway, I might be able to eat it.

Hey!

[identity profile] x-jubilee.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
No dissing the sugary breakfast cereal. I live on that stuff, man. Well, that and Jolt Cola.

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
Again, nothing is going to happen to my brains. Really.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
of course not. you're jsut a human microwave because you're bored.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
*grumblegrumblestupidpeoplewhodon'tsunburngrumble*

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried to wake you up, Doug. You muttered something at me in what sounded like Askani and went right back to sleep.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
*more grumbling* I'm still cranky about the fact that you don't sunburn, O captain my captain.

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It is occasionally - very occasionally - good to be me.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I got your "very occasionally good to be me" right here, boss man. Now, where'd I leave that SuperSoaker?

[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Now, now... no one likes a cranky Doug.

[identity profile] x-cypher.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, _you_ don't like a cranky Doug because he's hosing you down with a SuperSoaker. I hardly think that qualifies as a significant sample space, mon capitaine.

[identity profile] x-havok.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly, I'm still amused it took you this long to figure that out. I'm jotting it down as proof you don't get out enough bro!

And let me just state for the record. You. Hyper? Scariest thing I have ever seen! I'm going to have nightmares thanks to you...

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
:P

I don't sunburn either, Doug, but that's because I remember suntan lotion and anywhere I 'forget' Jamie is more than happy to remind me about. And you're absolutely right, Mr. Summers, Boiler Beach is a happy place.

[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Scott you're being too cheerful, you're scaring the children. *snickers*

Actually, you're fine down there. I was a bit worried by the strobing, but Hank and I went over your files and the data from the Danger Room Session of Much Manliness, and there's no danger of you sontaneously combusting or exploding or anything like that. Except perhaps from sheer chipper-ness.

Save some sun for me? Night shift, again. Provided I can convince Moira to leave Cain's bedside for five minutes.
